About bytes

Emoji and multilingual text can use more than one byte per character. The limit is 1,000 UTF-8 bytes.

Enter text or a website URL, then generate your QR code.

Choose a file for your use

PNG works in most documents and messaging apps. Its pixel size depends on your content; avoid enlarging it until the edges blur. SVG keeps sharp edges when resized in an app that supports vector images.

Before you print

Keep the white border, black-on-white contrast and square shape. More content makes a denser code that needs more space. Scan the final placement and a sample at its actual printed size before making many copies.

How large should I print it?

There is no size that works for every code, printer and scanning distance. Start with a generous size, measure the full square including its white border, and test with the phones people will use. If it is hard to scan, make it larger or shorten the content and generate a new code.

For scale only: 1,000 bytes in a single UTF-8 byte segment with its character-set marker use 129 modules including the border. At four printer dots per module and 300 dpi, that is about 43.7 mm wide. This is a calculation, not a minimum size or a scan guarantee.

Does the code expire?

A static code stores your text or full link directly. There is no TextIntoQR redirect, account or built-in expiry. A linked website must stay available. To change the encoded content, make a new code.

Our QR generator computes in your browser and does not send your input or save a history. Downloaded files contain the encoded content. Read about hosting, optional feedback and advertising.
